Heartland Grains & Milling

Heartland Grains and Milling, sister company to Central Coast Farms, is the main supplier of feed for our ranches. Having full control over the feed mill keeps us in total awareness of several factors such as the chickens' diets, health and productivity.  An interesting factor to our milling operation lies in our acreage in Nebraska.  We are proud to be able to grow our grains and feel this trait differentiates us from our competition.  We have the ability to monitor the planting, growing and harvest of our grains, allowing us to feel right about our promise of traceability.  Our Nebraska ranch supplies the corn that is used at Heartland Grains and Milling.  Our feed is a majority of corn and soybean along with some vitamins to keep the birds happy and healthy. The ingredients ran through the mill come in fresh Monday through Friday. The feed is then made into pellets compressed by an old stem conditioner, this helps hold the pellet together through a system of augers and slides.
