Our Nebraska Grains-
The diet of our chickens is very dependent on corn. For the most of Central Coast Farm's history, we have purchased corn through multiple suppliers as does just about every other chicken outfit with our size and resources. Promising complete traceability of our product to our customers was questioned by us a few years ago as we did not have complete control of what the chicken’s diet consisted of. The only way to feel right about our promise was further our traceability form the chicken to the feed. Acreage in Western Nebraska, was first bought in 2006 and the first harvest was cut and shipped out west in 2007. Central Coast Farms has extended its reach across half the United States and back to settle its own squabble with a promise. With the ability to monitor the planting, growing and harvest of our grains allows us to feel right about our promise and offers a traceability that cannot be claimed by our competition.
